The Tennessee Whiskey Trail will soon have an offshoot. The Cork to Fork Culinary Trail launches on March 31.
The Tennessee Whiskey Trail stretches some 700 miles, with 30 stops, across the state. It features large distilleries, such as Jack Daniel's, and small-batch operators like Memphis' Old Dominick. Participants can get a passport for digital or physical stamps.
The tagline for the new Cork to Fork Culinary Trail is "Have Your Whiskey and Eat It Too." The trail will feature pairings between distilleries and restaurants for spirit-infused dishes.
In Memphis, there are three participating restaurants — Kooky Canuck, Amelia Gene's, and Capriccio Grill.
At Kooky Canuck, it's the Canadian Burger getting sauced. The burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, and sauteed onions will be topped with an Old Dominick Straight Tennessee Whiskey BBQ sauce.
Amelia Gene's will have an ice cream sundae with homemade ice cream made with Old Dominick Bonded Tennessee Whiskey, candied pecans, and brandy cherries.
At Capriccio Grill, "A Night with Jack" will include sauteed shrimp with a Jack Daniel's rye glaze, pork tenderloin marinated in Jack Daniel's No. 7, and beef filets with a Jack Daniel's Single Barrel sauce.
Like the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, the Cork to Fork Culinary Trail will offer its participants a passport.
There are 40 culinary partners participating statewide at launch.
“Cork to Fork was designed to showcase Tennessee spirits beyond the glass,” said Charity Toombs, executive director of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, in a statement. “As our chefs and restaurants continue to earn national recognition, this trail creates a natural connection between their creativity and the excellence of Tennessee distilling, giving guests the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds through spirit-infused dishes that celebrate local heritage, ingredients, and innovation.”
