Nine Memphis-area restaurants were among the more than 4,000 restaurants across the world named as winners of Wine Spectator's 2026 Restaurant Awards.

Those restaurants are Amelia Gene's, Bari Ristorante e Enoteca, Capital Grille, Char Restaurant, Chez Philippe, Flight Restaurant & Wine Bar, Porch & Parlor Prime Steakhouse, Seasons 52, and Southern Social.

The Sipp on South Lamar in Oxford, Mississippi, was also among the winners.

The Memphis restaurants and The Sipp were given the Award of Excellence.

Award of Excellence is given to those restaurants that offer a wide selection that complements the cuisine.

Chez Philippe was among the winners in 1995. Amelia Gene's is the newest winner in Memphis. It opened in 2023 in the old Ellis & Sons Machine Shop at 255 S. Front St.

“The collective Amelia Gene’s experience is founded on providing a culinary experience you simply cannot find elsewhere,” said Jessica Henssler, Amelia Gene’s general manager, in a statement. “We believe every element should push the envelope and exceed expectations. It’s an honor that Wine Spectator recognizes that intentionality.”
